Exceptional specimen of pink fluorite on smoked quartz, from a famous locality.
Place and date of discovery: south Face of the "Droites" - 1997
Color: the pink is well definied.
Crystals: octahedrons. The surface aspect is excellent. Some crystallizations are brilliant, and the others are more mattes. There are no shocks and thus, all the edges are intact.
Transparency: we distinguish the matrix through the fluorite crystals. These last ones present a gemmy quality. Furthermore, we distinguish some zonations in octahedrons.
Matrix: it is constituted by a smoked quartz crystal.
Aesthetics: this specimen is not flat. A sort of "kidney" of fluorite crystals dominates the specimen and is approximately 2-3 cms high.
This high-quality specimen was photographed and published in the magazine " Le Regne Mineral ".
Overall size : 8,5 x 6,5 x 4,5 cm - edge crystals up to 12 mm.
